Detour Sketchbooks

Here are some fun sketchbooks to look at! These are part of "Detour" which is a project that Moleskin, the sketchbook people, run. It is basically part traveling exhibition part anthropological project. They go to different cities and ask artists, designer, and anyone really that has one of their sketchbooks to turn them in to be juried in a show. There are tons of videos online documenting them. Take a look at these and let me know what you think.

  1. I enjoyed Celia Squire's sketchbook. It is interesting how she people watches in cafes, diners, restaurants, etc. I found Antonio Jorge Goncalves' nose book comical but yet interesting. I too notice people's noses only because I dislike my own. Maybe he feels the same way about his.

  2. I also agree with Alice L. that Antonio's Book was comical. It was cool that you could tell the difference between an adult or child by bone structure or the curvature of the face. You could also tell that each nose began to have the slightest bit of more detail. With practice makes perfect.
