3 exhibits to see...

To start things off I thought I would include three very different experiences that you can find easily in Los Angeles before the month of September is out. All of these in various degrees relate to painting in some way: it could be the subject matter, a more traditional painting approach or like the central library rotunda a grand project. Let me know what you think...

  1. I agree about visiting the Getty Villa. It is worth the drive. The sculpture is amazing, the detailed frescos are a surprising delight mostly because we are not used to that type of decor.
    However, I really think that Norton Simon in Pasadena has a great variety of paintings and something for every style. I only found out about it last semester and and it is more impressive than I expected it to be. I think some classes are required to go but, if anyone hasn't been--you should check it out.

  2. it's true the Norton Simon is a great resource. I love the miniature indian paintings that they have. I'll post their information on the blog.
