One part Linseed Oil or Stand Oil
One part Gamsol or Turpenoid
No TURPENTINE can be used in our classroom
*only odorless solvents will be used in this class!

Canvas or supports:
Two packs of canvas boards 11”x14”

Canvas stretching supplies (will discuss further in the semester)

Other:
Lots of Rags
Plastic containers
At least 3 glass jars with lids
Palette knifes
Glass or plexyglass palette (hardware store)
Soap to clean brushes
Drawing supplies: pencils & vine charcoal
2 ½ “ brush to apply gesso (hardware store)
Sketchbook
Artist Black Ink (Higgins makes a decent one)
1 single blade window scrapper (hardware store)
1 gallon of odorless mineral spirits
1 quart refined linseed oil or stand oil

Optional:
Smock or apron
Gloves (dishwashing plastic gloves)
Any watercolors or acrylic paint you might have for doing small studies in sketchbook

Brushes:
Hog Bristles for oil and synthetic fibers for Acrylic: Flats, Rounds, Brights, Filberts in various sizes (will discuss further)
